Hennessey's Corvette C7 Stingray Reaches 200 mph During Testing [VIDEO]


The Corvette C7 Stingray modified by Hennessey Performance Texas recently completed a high speed test session and reached a top speed of 320 Km/h (200 mph), 20 mph more than the stock model. This performance was achieved thanks to Hennessey's HPE600 package which includes new high-flow catalysts, ported factory cylinder heads, long-tube headers, custom camshaft and a Nitrous Express nitrous oxide system.

The 6.2-liter V8 engine originally producing 460 Hp now develops 700 Hp at 6,500 rpm. But Hennessey Performance is cooking more for the new C7 Vette as the HPE700, HPE800 and HPE1000 packages will soon be available with respectively 700 Hp, 800 Hp and 1,000 Hp. SRT Viper Venom 700R by Hennessey Performance [VIDEO]


Hennessey Performance started test driving its 700R tuning package for the SRT Viper and the first official numbers are out. The 8.4-liter V10 now produces 705 Hp and an outstanding 941 Nm of torque. That allows the car to sprint from 0 to 60 mph 3.1 Seconds with a quarter mile time of 10.7 seconds at 215 km/h (134 mph). The car keeps accelerating until it reaches its top speed of 347 km/h (216 mph).

Aesthetically, Hennessey also offers some customizing options (that are not all featured in this video) like monoblock wheels, carbon fiber interior trim and a custom painted stripe.Video after the jump.

2014 Hennessey Venom GT2 Could produce 1,500 Hp


Hennessey Performance is preparing a replacement for a new version of the Venom GT dubbed GT2 that will be offered alongside the original GT. The new version produces as much as 1,500 Hp! Motivation still comes from a twin-turbocharged 7.0-Liter V8 sending power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed Ricardo manual gearbox (a new 7-speed paddle shift transmission will be available as an option for an extra $165k). Thanks to its weight of just 1,200 Kg, the Venom GT2 will have a power to weight ratio superior to 1 Hp/Kg.

The original Venom GT is said to be able to complete the 0 to 100 Km/h (62 mph) sprint in 2.2 seconds with a top speed of 272 mph (440 km/h). However none of those numbers was officially confirmed..

Besides the massive power boost, the new Venom GT2 will benefit from a redesigned front fascia in which the Elise headlights were ditched in favor of newly designed more angular ones. Another noticeable design element is the "double-bubble" shaped roof which is said to offer more headroom.

The Venom GT2 will carry a price tag of $1.25 million. More renderings of the hyper-fast supercar in the gallery below.

VIDEO: John Hennessey talks about the Venom GT


No powersliding this time since we're talking about a one million dollar supercar but it's a good review of what might possibly be the fastest street legal car in America. This particular black Venom GT is owned by a secret celebrity who kindly accepted to borrow his one out of six hypercar so that we can admire the 1244 Hp beast.

Interestingly, the Hennessey Venom GT is not considered a production car but a tuner car. It's even registered as a Lotus Elise! Only 6 Venom GTs were built until now and the theoretical top speed of 437 Km/h (272 mph) has not been officially tested yet...

Hennessey VR1200 Twin-Turbo based on CTS-V


The Cadillac CTS-V is already a very fast machine with a top speed of 290 km/h (180 mph) and a 0 to 98 Km/h (zero to 60 mph) time of 4 seconds. However, when the guys at Hennessey Performance got their hands on the compact coupe, they transformed it into a straight line monster thanks a twin-turbo 7.0-Litre V8 that develops as much as 1226 Hp! Hennessey estimates a new zero to 60 mph time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 390 Km/h (242 mph). Ambitious numbers right?



When it comes to styling, the car is just a beauty. The front bonnet has been modified to make place for the big V8 and the fenders have been widened thanks to a carbon package. Everything is perfectly put together just like what we used to get from Hennessey. Besides, black on black always wins!

Hennessey Performance Releases Pictures of the First Production Venom GT



Hennessey Performance has released pictures of the first production version of its lightweight Venom GT supercar. As a reminder, the Venom GT weights 1,071 Kg and uses the 6.2L LS9 V8 from the Corvette ZR1. The "base model" delivers 725 Hp while Hennessey 1,000 Hp and 1,200 Hp versions are also planned. Hennessey performance Venom GT officially revealed

After several spy shots and teasers, the Venom GT is finally here. As a reminder, the Venom GT from Hennessey performance is a supercar based on the Lotus Exige and powered by a supercharged Corvette V8. Unfortunately, no performance figures have been released. But with 725 Hp and 1,071 Kg, expect it to hit 100 Km/h (62 mph) in less than 3 seconds...

Body work
The superlight curb weight of 1,071 Kg has been achieved thanks to a carbon fiber bodywork as well as carbon fiber wheels. This is also thanks to a high tech lightweight chassis in the tradition of Lotus.

Engine
Under the big Lotus Exige skin there's a central mounted beautiful piece of engineering: the supercharged 6.2L LS9 V8 from the Corvette ZR1 which now delivers 725 Hp. Wise choice i say. Hennessey Performance is also planning 1,000 hp and 1,200 hp versions. This makes the Venom GT a serious contender to being the fastest production car in the world.

Other features include an active aerodynamic system with an ajustable rear wing depending on the use of the car (road or track). It's also equipped with an ajustable suspension system. A proper race car for the road.
