Pagani Huayra VS Zonda on the Track [VIDEO]

For most of us, the Pagani Zonda and the Pagani Huayra are just dream cars. For guys like Goodwood Road and Racing Club member Peter Read, they are a beautiful reality since he owns both of these cars. But it's good thing since he offers us the chance to see the Zonda and its successor together on the track for the first time. So let's enjoy what we have. Video after the jump.

Pagani Huayra Burns Rubber in Modena

This amazing Pagani Huayra wrapped in gold and matte grey was caught in Modena by one of the most active car spotters from Italy named Marchettino. It was driven by Pagani's test driver Davide Testi who even did some crazy burnouts in the $1million plus supercar. We think it might the be the same exact car that the guys at Speedhunters got the chance to drive. Take a look here.

Meet the Queen of the Top Gear Test Track..

Mercedes-Benz AMG released these pictures of the record breaking Pagani Huayra hypercar to celebrate the accomplishment. The Italian beauty powered by a bespoke 6.0-liter AMG V12 engine achieved a stunning lap time of 1:13.8 seconds at the Top Gear test track, the fastest ever for a road legal supercar. In fact the Huayra's lap time is just 3 seconds behind the more powerful, not road legal Zonda R race car. We think that the Huayra will remain at the top of the lap time board for a while.. at least until the future McLaren P1 or the Ferrari F150 show up!

LEGO Dreams: A Fully Functional LEGO Technic Pagani Zonda

If you grew up mounting LEGO Technic Sets using nothing but instructions without leaving room for your imagination, you will feel ashamed after watching this. This Polish LEGO genius built a fully functional motorized Pagani Zonda. I have an admiration for the work done here and how the electric motor and the battery found their place in such a small structure.

There are plenty of fully functional awesome projects made by Pawel "Sariel" Kmiec that require much more skills than just being a LEGO artist. So you better hurry up to his site and have a look. You can also buy his "Unofficial LEGO Technic Builder's Guide" is which he exposes techniques that might help you (or not) build your own Zonda!

The motorized LEGO Zonda also features fully functional push-rod suspension and can achieve a top speed of 15.4 Km/h (nearly 10 mph). You can see it in action in the video after the jump.

This fantastic creation surely deserves its place among our personal favourites including this Porsche 917K by Ming Thein.

U.S. Spec Pagani Huayra Pictures

The Pagani Huayra is outstanding from every point. Whether in terms of design or in terms of performance, the Italian hypercar with a german beating heart is simply a killer. And even if some of you are not big fans of its mouthy front end, i think it had to be like that for a reason. This car is going to be an eternal classic, just like the Zonda already is. For more breath taking pictures of this U.S. spec Huayra, go to Autogespot.

Jay Leno's Garage Welcomes The Pagani Huayra and Its Creator

If you payed enough attention while watching the Jay Leno's review of the Zonda R you might have noticed the red Pagani Huayra sitting on the other side of the garage. Now click past the jump to have a closer look at the 700 Hp road legal (except for the U.S. because it lacks some airbags) beast with Jay Leno and Horatio Pagani.

The Pagani Zonda R is Pure Carbon Fiber Perfection

Click on the picture above for high res.

There are cars that we never, ever get tired of seing, or hearing. And the Pagani Zonda R is definitely one of those. It has a 700 Hp screaming AMG V12 and a splendid carbon fiber body that weights just 1,071 Kg. This time, Jay Leno welcomes the carbon fiber record setting beast in his garage as well as its creator Mr Horatio Pagani himself. Click after the jump to enjoy 4 minutes of symphony making V12.
The Pagani Huayra Looks Like this With a Rear Spoiler

This is how the new Pagani Huayra would look like in a yellow and black finish and fitted with a rear spoiler. Even if it might look better with a rear spoiler, i'm pretty sure that the active aero parts have been tested to offer a more versatile body shape that will help the Zonda sucessor achieve higher speeds both when cornering and in the straight lines.

Head on to Autogespot to see more Huayras in different colors.
Horacio Pagani talks about the Zonda R and its Nürburgring Record

Pagani,Zonda R

It's always a pleasure to see the Zonda R on a track, especially when it comes to the Nürburgring Nordschleife. In this video, Horacio Pagani, the man behind this track beast and founder of Pagani Automobili talks about his satisfaction with what he and his team achieved with the Zonda R.

The video contains some really great shots of the Zonda R that i actually wanted to include them in my post. Just look at it!

Just like the top speed war between Bugatti and Shelby Supercars, there is the fastest lap around the Green Hell war. And honestly, this latter makes more sense to me. Lately Ferrari took its track focused 599XX to the Ring to make an incredible 6 min 58 seconds lap time. But just when we started thinking that time was set to last for a while, Pagani's Zonda R destroyed it by a full 11 seconds and now Pagani Automobili has finally released the full on board lap footage of the Zonda R performing its astonishing 6 minutes 47 seconds run at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

As a reminder, the Zonda R is a 1,070 Kg (2,400 pounds) non road legal track car powered by an AMG sourced 6.0 L V12 tuned to produce 740 Hp. If you want to follow the building process of this fantastic track machine, and of course you do, i suggest you to take a visit to the Pagani factory in Modena thanks to this three parts article written by the Speed Hunters here, here and here.

Hear the Zonda R symphony

Pagani Zonda R 03

This video has been on Pagani's official website for a while now but finally we got our hands on an HD version in beautiful 1080p. I just have to say that there was no need for music in this video, the Zonda R has an exhaust note that sounds far better than any symphony. Watch perfection on four wheels right next.

VIDEO: Ten fastest supercars round the Top Gear track

[spoiler alert!]

This video features the ten fastest lap times round the Top Gear test track until season 13! So if you still didn't watch the series that far, maybe you would like to wait until you'll be able watch the whole series. And maybe you shouldn't read the whole post either...

Otherwise, enjoy!

For those who aren't familiar with the corners' names here's a little reminder:

The video also includes the Ferrari FXX lap time which has been removed by Jeremy Clarkson for obvious reasons (slicks, not road legal..) but it's still worth the watch, what a noise!

My favourite supercars of all time

Through this post i would like to share with you my all time favourite supercars. Each one of them has something special that makes me want it to be someday in my dream garage...

Ferrari F40
year 1987

Ferrari F40 01

It's my all time favourite supercar and in my opinion the best looking Ferrari ever made. It was built to be as simple as possible. With its obsessive weight saving, the car was just 1100 Kg heavy, with doors that weight only 1.5 Kg each! A figure that is completely impossible to achieve today thanks to all the technology put in modern supercars..
