Pick of the Day: Perfect E38

I really hate the fact that modern BMWs keep getting bigger and heavier. They might be safer and better equipped. They might be even faster. But in my opinion, i don't think it is possible to make a E65 or F01 7 series look as cool as this E38. Some technical specifications about this car: It's a 1995 740li fitted with FK Highsport Coilovers and a set of Stern ST-2 18x9.5 rims wearing 255/35 Bridgestone RE050a Runflats.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 Racer Updated for The 2011 Season



Aston Martin has updated its successful Aston Martin GT4 racer that debuted two years ago for the 2011 season. The V8 powered Vantage racer of which 80 units have already been sold will benefit from important engine upgrades as well as a new improved aero package inspired from the road going V12 vantage. The Aston Martin Racing engineers have specifically worked on improving the cooling air channelling and increasing the down force.

Unfortunately, Aston Martin did not release specific numbers concerning the 4.7-liter V8 power and torque rates. Further updates are the new racing ABS and TCS developped by BOSH Motorsport. It's a good race car that just got better. More pictures of the beautiful racer in the gallery below.

AMG SLS By Brabus



Some people, and i'm not one of them, think that exept the Gullwing doors, the AMG SLS is a discrete looking car, until of course it unleashes its 571 Hp. I'm not really sure that's correct, however BRABUS wanted to make sure that its interpretation of the SLS is a head turner. So they focused on making it a wider car. Instead of widening the front wheel arches and the rear quater panels for more muscular look, the german tuner's take on the SLS was to expand the same treatment to the whole side of the car. In fact, the changes brought to Mercedes-Benz Sports car are more cosmetic than performance related. Power upgrades are minor with an extra 10 Hp thanks to a new exhaust system. To be honest, i'm not really convinced with this new front facia nor with the wider body but i'd wait to see it in the flesh to have a final verdict.

Pictures: Vorsteiner GTRS3 Wide Bodykit



The German tuner Vorsteiner has released new pictures of its exclusive GTRS3 Coupé based on the BMW M3. The widebody M3 will be limited to 100 examples worldwide. The Vorsteiner GTRS3 might look much wider than the standard M3 but it's not really heavier. In fact, all the modified body parts including the front bumper, front fenders, side skirts, rear quarter panels and rear bumper have been replaced with carbon fiber ones. In addition to that, the car features V-308 3-piece concave forged wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 Performance Tires.

Photoshoot: Two Gullwings from Two Differents Eras

On the left, the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL, powered by a 215 Hp six cylinder engine. On the right, the SLS AMG powered by a 6.2L V8 developping 571 Hp and good for at least 300 Km/h. When you look at a picture like this one, there's an eternal question that comes to mind: which one would you choose? I love the styling of the 300SL and i have an admiration for the performance of the SLS AMG. In a perfect world, i would keep both.

The Future By Mercedes-Benz: The BIOME Vision Concept


This concept car doesn't even sit on its own "wheels" but it's still a nice thing to look at and a great vision of the future of transportation by Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studios in Carlsbad, California. To best describe the concept of this car i'm going to use the words of Mr Hubert Lee, Head of the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studios:

“As the inventor of the motor car, we wanted to illustrate the vision of the perfect vehicle of the future, which is created and functions in complete symbiosis with nature. The Mercedes-Benz BIOME is a natural technology hybrid, and forms part of our earth’s ecosystem. It grows and thrives like the leaves on a tree”



While the concept exists as 1:1 model, its ambitions belong to another planet. The Biome concept is a totally recyclable 2+2 compact car weighing only 454 Kg (1000 pounds) and emitting nothing but Oxygen... I doubt the future will be this bright.

VIDEO: The upcoming Lamborghini Avendator's Beating Heart



Lamborghini is so proud of its new 700 Hp 6.5-Liter V12 engine that it has released a beautiful set of pictures and a video of the newest Raging Bull's beating heart, and we couldn't be more pleased with that. The new V12 will find its place under the bonnet of a lighter Murciélago replacement called the "Avendator" which is due to be unveiled earlier next year. Watch the video after the jump.

Kelleners Sport BMW 535i


The Kelleners Sport BMW 535i F10 will make its first public appearence in the upcoming Essen Motor Show starting in November 27th. Kelleners Sport managed to get an extra 61 Hp from the 3.0 L twin-turbo in-line six bringing the total to a respectable 367 Hp.

The main changes from the exterior are the new front bumper with LED daytime lights, a rear diffuser and stainless steel M Style quad exhausts. A new sportier suspension system allows the car to sit 30 millimeters lower. Finally, customers will be able to choose between nineteen and twenty inch rims. The Kellners sport 535i is yet another interpretation of the standard 5 series that gives an idea about what the upcoming M5 F10 would look like.

G-Power BMW M6 Hurricane RR produces over 800 Hp



A lot of BMW enthusiasts are not very big fans of the E63 M6's styling. However, everyone agrees that under the bonnet lies one of the greatest engines of all time, the almighty 5.0-Liter naturally aspirated S85 V10 producing a healthy 507 Hp. G-Power is no stranger to tuning BMW M cars, and this time they pushed the boundaries even further by taking 800 Hp out of the V10 engine thanks to a new bi-supercharger system. And that allows the M6 Hurricane RR to achieve a top speed of 372 Km/h (231 mph) to make it the world's fastest (road legal) 4-seat coupé.

Several series-production engine parts like con rods and piston pins have been replaced with dedicated ones in order to handle the increase in forces. The Hurricane RR features a new aero package that includes carbon fiber side skirts and a rear spoiler to increase downforce at higher speeds and has been fitted with 20 inch SILVERSTONE CLUBSPORT black wheels that weight as much as the series-production smaller ones.

The 0 to 100 km/k (62 mph) time of 4.35 seconds remains relatively high for a machine as powerful as the Hurricane RR and that is mainly due to the 1,710 Kg (3,769 pounds) weight of the car but then things get better with a 200 km/h (124 mph) time of 9.5 seconds and 300 km/h (186 mph) in 24,9 seconds.
