The Alfa Romeo 4C Completes the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 8:04

The Alfa 4C officially completed one lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife in a very respectable 8:04. So apart from being sexy, the 4C is also a very agile machine. Besides all this, it seems that it's very fun to drive too!

As a refresher, the Alfa Romeo 4C is powered by a turbocharged 1.75-liter inline-four engine producing 240 HP and 350 Nm of torque. This allows the Italian beauty which weights just 895 kg (1973 pounds) to complete the 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) sprint in 4.5 seconds and keep accelerating until it reaches 258 km/h (160 mph).

Alfa Romeo 4C Production version Unveiled

Alfa Romeo released new pictures of the production version of the 4C Concept currently displayed at the Geneva Motor Show. The production 4C will be powered by a 1.75-Liter inline four engine producing 240 Hp. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Alfa 4C might be eclipsed in terms of power by half of the cars available at the Geneva Motor Show but the thing is, it weight just 952 Kg (2,100 pounds) thanks to a light weight body and a carbon fiber monocoque. The result is a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) time of 4.5 seconds and a (limited) top speed of 250 Km/h (155 mph).

Let's go back to the car that is actually displayed in Geneva. It is called the "4C launch edition" and it's pretty similar to the regular version except that it features some visual including a more sophisticated color scheme, full LED headlights and 19 inch allow wheels at the back. The 4C launch edition will be limited to only 1,000 units and will cost nearly €60k. More pictures of the production version in the gallery below.

Alfa 6C Revival: an Italian Muscle Car by Alex Imnadze

Another stunning piece of design by Georgian designer Alex Imnadze, author of this beautiful front engined Lamborghini design study..

Alex says that his design is inspired by classic Italian cars such as the original Alfa Romeo 6C from 1948 and the modern 8C. But we spot some similarities with the new SRT Viper too which makes total sense since the two brands are owned by Fiat!

We're not sure if Alfa Romeo is willing to produce such a car, but we love the idea of an Alfa Romeo sports car based on the SRT Viper. But again, that means that the brand will enter in competition with Ferrari, which will be of course strongly disapproved by Fiat..

Alfa Romeo 12C GTS concept by Ugur Sahin

Meet the Alfa Romeo 12C GTS concept from Turkish designer Ugur Sahin. A front-engined supercar powered by a 12-cylinder engine, as its name suggests. Sahin's work is just stunning, besides the gorgeous Alfa Romeo concept he came up with, his 3D modeling and rendering job is just as flawless! It's a shame that such a beautiful creation might never see the light, at least under this form...

Sahin's design includes some very exquisite details like this beautiful air intake above the headlights or the psychedelic lines in the front grille. It also has a hint to future with the solar roof.

Federico B. Alliney is the artist responsible for creating the sceneries of "The World of Pandora" in the movie "Avatar". As an undisputed fan of Alfa Romeo since his childhood and a car collector, Alliney created these seven unique Alfa Romeo paintings featuring some the of marque's most iconic cars. Each one of the paintings illustrates an Alfa Romeo car surrounded by an imaginary world that corresponds to real spirit of the car and puts in its ideal world.

To accomplish his art work Frederico B. Alliney used a pictorial technique that he have developed as movie sceneries designer. The artist realised these paintings by applying a concept he calls "painting with light" which is described "as a superimposition of layers of light and shadows, resulting into images inspired by pictorial and photographic tradition but incontrovertibly more vibrant of life due to the strong fluidity of the light."
