You Might Need to Wait For One year To Get your Corvette Sting Ray Z51

While SRT is struggling to sell its gorgeous Viper (for reasons we don't know), GM is facing a year long waiting list for the Chevy Corvette Sting Ray equipped with the Z51 performance package (which represents three quarters of the Corvette C7 orders). Looking at the picture above, we can understand why.

The Z51 performance package includes a three-mode electronic limited slip differential, larger slotted brake discs, dry-sump oil system, upgraded dampers, bigger wheels (19 inches in the front, 20 inches in the rear), sportier gear ratios, new suspension and an aero package that makes it look even better.

This beautiful 2014 Corvette Stingray you see in the pictures below rides on Forgiato's 2.01 wheels. They measure 21 inches at the rear and 20 inches at the front. These pictures were taken from an ongoing project. In fact, this beauty will also receive the wide body treatment but you'll have to wait for the SEMA show to discover it. In the meantime, the rendering above, as well as the high res gallery below might help you visualize what the final product will look like.

The Corvette Stingray based Shooting brake Gets Green-lighted!

The amazing shooting brake concept from Callaway based on the new Corvette C7 Stingray finally got the production gree light! Details are a little scarce at the moment, but the shooting brake will feature an enhanced version of the 6.2-liter V8 engine that will allow the car to hit 320 Km/H (200 mph).

Now this reminds me of another great wagon: the Ferrari 456 Venice!

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Officially Revealed! (UPDATE)

General Motors finally took wraps off the long awaited and painfully teased Corvette C7 and we think it was worth waiting. The new Vette is powered by the all new all-new LT1 small-block 6.2-Liter V8 producing 450 Hp and 610 Nm (450 ft/lb). The engine sends power to rear wheels through a 7-speed manual or a six-speed paddle shift automatic transmission. No performance numbers have been released yet but the 0 to 100 Km/h (62 mph) time is expected to be under 4 seconds since the new Vette has a better power to weight ratio than the previous model.

Aesthetically, the new Vette is pretty much what we were hoping for. It's a huge change over the C6 but it's unmistakably a Corvette. The car is built around an aluminum frame and has a prefect 50/50 weight distribution.



The interior is a real improvement over the previous model and with a 14.1-inch diameter, the steering wheel is slightly smaller. The lightweight magnesium frame seats will be available in two versions: "GT" and "Competition Sport". As its name suggests, the latter will be more adapted to track use.

Pricing has not been announced yet and the car won't be available for the buyers before six months. So until then, you can contemplate the gorgeous new Vette in the gallery below. and stay tuned for more pictures and videos.
