Pick of the Day: Eagle E-type Low Drag Coupe

This thing is absolutely gorgeous! It makes me feel like I'm cheating on the original Jaguar E-Type which is one of my all time favourite designs. This perfectly proportioned E-type is a tribute to the infamous Jaguar E-Type low drag coupe and it's built by Eagle, a British car company specialized in rebuilding and restoring E-Type jags.

The Eagle Low Drag Coupe is powered by a 4.7-liter aluminum straight-six engine producing 345 hp which should be enough since the car weights just 1038 Kilograms (2288 pounds). The engine is sending its power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox and the 0 to 100 Km/h (62 mph) sprint is achieved in 4.5 seconds!

Eagle's E-Type low drag coupe is a wonderful piece of art just like its topless variant, the Speedster which was tested by Jeremy Clarkson a couple of years ago. Only one exists at the moment and you need to wait 18 months and have £650k to be able to own one.

We wish that we could tell you more about how it feels to drive this sex-on-wheels machine but unfortunately we didn't. But the guys at Autocar Magazine did! So here's their review of this magnificent ride. You can also have a look at the high res gallery below.

Pick of the Day: Abflug Schwarzer Supercar

No it's not based on the Viper, it's not based on a Ferrari either.. It's called the Abflug Schwarzer, it comes from Gotenba in Japan and only one exists in the world. The car is based on a Toyota Supra JZA80 and this not just a cheap conversion kit. It's a bespoke body that is meant to give the Supra a totally different appearance and also the performance that goes with it.

The Abflug Schwarzer is powered by a 3.0-liter six cyliner engine producing 603 Hp and good for a top speed of 313 Km/h (196 mph). The car weights just 1,390 kg (3,064 pounds) and it'll do the 400 meters (quarter mile) in 11.3 seconds.

Rolls Royce Chicane Coupe One-off

Rolls-Royce introduced a special one-off model for its dealership in Dubai. Dubbed, Phantom Bespoke Chicane Coupe, the model is a sexy coupé version of the Phantom sedan. It is powered by the same 6.75-Liter V12 engine producing 453 Hp and 720 Nm of torque. Inspired by the Goodwood Motor Circuit, the car also features a unique two-tone matte black and gunmetal exterior as well as carbon fiber trim. More photos of beauty in the gallery below.

More details on Eric Clapton's SP12 EC one-off

Ferrari released more details on Eric Clapton's 512BB tribute and we finally got the confirmation that the engine in the SP12 EC is the same as the 458 Italia. As the Ferrari mag article states, "He (Eric Clapton) would have liked a V12, he says, but as his BB homage began to take shape he was persuaded that the 458 would provide a more practical and flexible template." So unlike the original 512BB and its flat twelve engine, the SP12 EC is powered by a more conventional naturally aspirated V8 that produces 572 Hp with the standard 458 Italia. Ferrari Releases Official Pictures of Clapton's 512BB Tribute

Ferrari has finally revealed the official pictures of their one-off tribute to the iconic 512BB model, made especially for Eric Clapton. The Ferrari SP12 is based on the 458 Italia but there's no information on how much our well loved guitarist has payed for this transformation. Ferrari SP12 EPC: A very Special 458 Italia for a Very Special Customer

..with a very special price. This Ferrari SP12 EPC based on the F458 Italia has been made especially by Ferrari for the legendary blues guitarist and singer Eric Clapton. Of course, this isn't the first time Ferrari makes a one-off model for one of its very wealthy customers, but these models are costly to produce. That's why Ferrari asked Clapton for a healthy 3 million pounds to build this 512BB tribute. Some rumors suggest that the supercar is powered by a V12 engine instead of the Italia's original V8 but I personally think that the V8 is still there since the exhausts layout looks identical to that of the standard 458 Italia. Stay tuned as clearer shots of this very special one-off may surface.
