The new C-Class is here! And it came to complete one the most beautiful Mercedes-Benz lineups ever.
Engine offerings (for the US market):
The C300 4MATIC is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged direct-injection in-line four cylinder engine producing 235 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque and the C400 4MATIC is powered by a 3.0L turbocharged direct-injection V6 producing 329 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque.
Styling and chassis:
First of all, the new C-Class is a whole 100 kilograms (220 lbs) lighter than the previous generation even though it has a 3 inch longer wheelbase (112 inches total), a 3.7 inches longer (184 inches) and 1.6 inches wider (71 inches) body. The styling is largely influenced by the successful CLA model from the front while the rear looks like a more compact version of the new S-Class. Overall, the C-Class has its own character and is very recognizable as the brand's mid sized sedan.
Technology
The new C-Class is the first vehicle in its segment that can be fitted with an air suspension (AIRMATIC) on the front and rear axles. The AIRMATIC technology is very versatile and offers the driver the choice between four modes "Comfort", "ECO", "Sport" and "Sport+." in addition to the "Individual" option which enables the driver to configure their vehicle according to his own wish.
Another interesting feature is the touchpad in the handrest. The new feature takes over the Controller on the center tunnel and allows handwriting for a less distracted driving..
When it comes to the C63 AMG version, details are a little scarce at the moment. But the top of the range version is set to go turbo with the new generation. Pricing is yet to be announced but you can find more pictures and details in the press release after the jump.
