Romain wasn't convinced that his race was over, especially after such a silly crash.. Romain Dumas ignored the signs from the stewards telling him that his 24 hours was over and kept trying to get his car running again, which he did. Sort of.. After making it to the pits, the car got repaired by the Audi Team and was able to run again, eventually finishing fifth!

Toyota's new Hybrid LMP1 racer Revealed

We all loved the Toyota GT-One back in the 1998 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Sadly, the Japanese GT1 race car didn't meet the expectations of Toyota and the public. Thirteen years later, Toyota comes back to the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a Hybrid machine. After the sudden departure of Peugeot from the competition, Toyota will have the German giant Audi (second most successful team in the History of the 24 hours race) to beat. With Porsche (the most successful team in the race's history) joining the race the year after.

Code-named TS030, the race car will be using a 3.4-liter V8 coupled to a two motor electric powertrain. The electric motors will be placed one in the front and one in the rear. However, as the regulations point out, the eletric powertrain is allowed to drive only one set of wheels. Toyota will be entering two TS030's for the 2012 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
