Ferrari FXX K Revealed

Ferrari's latest moving laboratory has just arrived. The new track only beast features a series of improvement over the road going LaFerrari including a more powerful engine and one of the most aggressive aero packages ever fitted to a Ferrari.

The FXX successor produces 1035 Hp (1050 PS) coming from a 848 Hp (860 PS) V12 engine and a 187 Hp (190 PS) electric motor. Ferrari says the new FXX K achieves a 50% improvement in down force in the low drag configuration and a 30% improvement in the more aggressive down force configuration.

Epic Supercar Meeting at Assen

Nearly all car enthusiasts love racing video games. And one of the main reasons for that is being able to put together on the same track cars that would never meet in real life.

Except that, when you have the money, everything is possible. Thanks to this group of wealthy car enthusiasts,
now we can watch a friendly race between four of the world's finest hypercars: The Koenigsegg Agera R,
The Porsche 918 Spyder, LaFerrari and the McLaren P1. That's exactly what happened at the Assen Circuit last weekend and you can watch the footage after the jump.

Now I'm pretty sure that these nice people know someone with a special edition Pagani Zonda or a Veyron or two in his possession. So this might bring us something even more special.

Steve Sutcliffe From Autocar Drives LaFerrari

LaFerrari leaves Steve Sutcliffe speechless. And so are we.

Just a reminder, Laferrari is a 949 Hp beast combining 160 Hp of pure electric power with a 6.3-liter V12 producing 789 Hp. When it comes to performance, the Enzo replacement sheds 5 seconds off its predecessor's time around the Fiorano test track, which is a lot since we are talking about a 2.9 km (1.86 miles) long circuit.

Ferrari released a short video of LaFerrari being driven to the limit at the Fiorano test circuit. The result is one minute of pure V12 sound and tire shredding. Expect reviews of LaFerrari to popping up everywhere since the Italian beauty has finally gone public and world renown journalists finally have the chance to take the wheel of the hybrid hyper car.

According to the latest rumors, the XX version will be powered by a Formula 1 sourced turbo V6. So enjoy the sound of the V12 while you can because this might be the latest V12 powered hypercar from Ferrari..

Is The Scuderia Using a LaFerrari Mule to Test its Formula1 V6?

You might think that now that the season is over, Formula1 teams have the time to relax. Well that's not true especially this year since we have the major regulations changes. Part of the new rules, teams will have to switch from the current 2.4-liter naturally aspirated V8 Formula to a more efficient 1.6-iter turbocharged V6.

In the eighties, this would have meant power figures that will easily surpass 1,000 Hp. Today, teams are no longer able to voluntarily blow up engines. So they have to go easy on the power. In order to get things working perfectly in time for the new season, teams like Ferrari might have already started to test their 2014 power train. Which brings us to this video.

What we are seeing here a LaFerrari test mule that is powered by something that is definitely not a V12 if you hear the noise. The guys at WorldCarFans also point out that the additional roof scoop also strengthens the possibility that this could be Ferrari's future F1 engine. We really hope that these are the very early stages of the development because we really don't want to see the 2014 F1 cars sounding like this.

DMC LaFerrari FXXR in The Works

Deliveries of LaFerrari haven't started yet but German tuner DMC is already working on a more extreme model dubbed FXXR.

We have no idea how they are planning to make the most technologically advanced hybrid hyper car better or how they are planning to improve the aero of the car. But DMC say that they have set models like the 250GTO and Enzo FXX as an inspiration.

Looking at what we've already had from DMC, the FXXR promises to be outrageous from a design point of view. But performance wise, will it be faster than LaFerrari on a track?

To celebrate his new Contract with the Spanish football (soccer) team Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo bought him self a LaFerrari. The Real Madrid star will be one of the lucky 499 LaFerrari owners. We all know that Ferrari has established some rules for its customers to have the privilege of being in the LaFerrari's very exclusive list of owners. One of those rules is to already own 5 Ferrari's. A rule that would have prevented Mr Jay Kay from owning his hybrid hypercar dream until he fixed things up by buying this F12 Berlinetta. We don't know if Cristiano is eligible to that rule but we guess they can make exceptions...

LaFerrari Caught Testing on the Nurburgring Nordschleife

Today, the guys at World Car Fans posted spy photos of a LaFerrari prototype testing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. It makes us wonder if the Italian automaker isn't already preparing a response for the Porsche 918 Spyder's stunning lap time of 6:57.

We already know that on paper, LaFerrari has got what it takes to break the Porsche record. But we also know that the more powerful McLaren P1 reportedly failed to break the 7 minutes barrier with an unconfirmed lap time of 'only' 7:04.

Will the LaFerrari be the queen of the new generation hybrid hypercars? Only time will tell. Stay tuned!

Is LaFerrari Greener than we Think?

Okay, do we have some electric cars/hybrid cars experts here?

Ferrari said that they will never make hybrid cars that run on electric-only mode (like a Toyota Prius). But this video seems to be a proof that they actually did. Look and listen carefully at 2:24, the LaFerrari (My God this thing is gorgeous!) leaving the Ferrari factory in Maranello seems too quiet for a V12 powered car..

Is it just rolling or is it using its High-KERS system's electric motor? Besides why would the test driver start the engine on a rolling car? Afraid to wake up someone inside?

As an embedded software programmer my self, I think that this feature in only software dependent.. So why would Ferrari remove that from the production version if the prototypes in the video were proved to be really running on electric only mode?

..Or did they just change their mind in the last minute since the production of the car didn't start just yet? Have a look at the video below and tell us what you think.

The guys at RC82 Workchop released this rendering of what the track focused XX variant of Ferrari's latest hypercar could look like. And the result is pretty amazing! Only 30 examples (that you can't actually bring home) of the Ferrari FXX based on the Enzo hypercar were produced at the price of nearly $1.8 million each.

Now that LaFerrari has been officially unveiled, rumors have just started to surface about a possible "LaMaserati" model... Rumors suggest that the limited series Maserati will benefit from all the technologies developed with LaFerrari except for its hybrid powertrain. Instead, it might use a turbocharged version of the Quattroporte's V8.

Keep in mind that none of these information have been officially confirmed. But a LaFerrari based hypercar from Maserati isn't out of question since the MC-12 its self was based on the Ferrari Enzo.
