2014 DTM 2nd Round, Oschersleben: Mercedes Victorious

After a disappointing first race at Hockenheim where the best placed Mercedes came eleventh, things went much better during the rain hit race at Oschersleben. Christian Vietoris scored the first win of the season for Mercedes which now places him in the second place of the drivers's championship.

The best placed BMW M4 DTM of Augusto Farfus crossed the chequered flag in 5th position. Marco Wittmann, winner of the first round at Hockenheim and pole sitter at Oscherleben, ended up finishing 19th. His race was ruined after he committed a mistake when trying to overtake Gary Puffet after the safety car and was obliged to make an extra pit stop.

Thanks to its more consistent points finish, Audi, the only manufacturer yet to win a race this season, took the lead of the constructors championship thanks to a solid second place by Mike Rockenfeller who also took the lead of the drivers championship.

Next up, the DTM circus will visit Budapest in less than two weeks. Stay tuned!

Is this how F1 will become louder?

Tomorrow, Mercedes AMG Petronas will be testing its "trumpet" solution to make this year's turbo V6 engines louder. Mercedes says that the new solution will bring the noise level between last year's V8 engines and the current turbo V6. But don't expect a miracle.

Next month, the whole world will be watching the 24 hours Le Mans and I don't think that the quiet diesel hybrid engines will change that...

Pick of The Day: Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series on ADV.1

In order to showcase their new ADV5.21SL wheels, ADV.1 teamed up with Five Nine Design to bring us this stunning CL63 AMG Black Series. Wheels are 20 inch Monoblocks with a brushed aluminum finish and a special red tint applied over the surface. There's no word if this particular C63 Black series underwent some performance upgrades but the original car is powered by a 6.3-Liter V8 producing 510 Hp, so that should be okay... Meet the Queen of the Top Gear Test Track..

Mercedes-Benz AMG released these pictures of the record breaking Pagani Huayra hypercar to celebrate the accomplishment. The Italian beauty powered by a bespoke 6.0-liter AMG V12 engine achieved a stunning lap time of 1:13.8 seconds at the Top Gear test track, the fastest ever for a road legal supercar. In fact the Huayra's lap time is just 3 seconds behind the more powerful, not road legal Zonda R race car. We think that the Huayra will remain at the top of the lap time board for a while.. at least until the future McLaren P1 or the Ferrari F150 show up!
