Listen to Volvo's New 650 HP V8 Supercars Engine

Last year Mercedes-Benz joined the Australian V8 supercars championship when third-party team Erebus Motorsport was approved the right to use a Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG body shell as the basis for their race car.

This year we have another serious contender coming from Sweden. Volvo will be will be entering the ultra competitive championship with a Polestar 650 Hp V8 powered beast. But unlike Mercedes, they don't seem to be underestimating the championship and they are taking things very seriously. We don't have the final pictures of their race car yet but we do now have an idea about the sound of their V8, and it sounds ferocious to say the least!

Volvo Demonsrates the Precision of its Dynamic Steering with the Help of JCVD

While most truck drivers don't lack driving skills, Volvo's dynamic Steering system will surely make their job easier. In order to demonstrate the stability and precision of their new system, Volvo engineers asked for the help of Belgian legend Jean Claude Van Damme.

The goal was to perform one of the most impressive stunts ever performed: doing a split between two trucks moving backwards while having each leg on the side mirror of each one. The result is one of the most epic splits ever performed. Watch after the jump and don't eat pizza today.
VIDEO: Noble M600 vs Skoda Fabia Super 2000

Very unusual pairing from Autocar here: a mid-engined RWD supercar versus a 4WD rally car. The Noble M600 is powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo Volvo V8 producing 650 Hp that makes it capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 Km/h in 3 seconds with a top speed exceeding 362 km/h (225 mph). The Skoda Fabia Super 2000 on the other hand, is powered by a 2.0-Liter four cylinder engine producing 265 Hp.

You might think that the Skoda Fabia, being a race car, is a much lighter machine but you'd be wrong! At 1,200 Kg, the two cars weight exactly the same. Does the Skoda rally car have what it takes to keep up with the 650 Hp supercar? Steve Sutcliffe from Autocar will find out for you. Very entertaining to watch with some surprising results.
