Mazda's Diesel Racer For the TUDOR Championship Fully Revealed



Two months ago, Mazda revealed its diesel Skyactiv-D powered Prototype that is set to compete in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. And today we have the chance to discover the livery and more details about the only diesel race car in the championship.

The Japanese race car is powered by a 2.2-liter SKYACTIV-D Clean Diesel engine producing 450 hp and 786 Nm (580 lb-ft) of torque. The engine sends power to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential Xtrac gearbox with paddle shifters. The race car weights just 900 kg (1,984 pounds) with a fuel tank that has a capacity of 73 liters.

Two cars will be entered at the Rolex Daytona 24 Hours this month and will be driven respectively by Sylvain Tremblay, Tom Long, Joel Miller and Tristan Nunez. Full details in the press release after the jump.

First Real Life pictures of Picket Racing's Nissan Prototype


After releasing the first renderings last month, Nissan offers us the chance to discover in the flesh Pickett Racing's prototype that is set to compete in this year's TUDOR United SportCar Championship. The car will be driven by Nissan's driver Alex Brundle as well as Klaus Graf (GER) and Lucas Luhr (GER). It car will make its racing debut at the Rolex Daytona 24 Hours next January.

Pickett Racing's LMP2 Prototype Updated for The 2014 TUDOR Championship


Klaus Graf (GER) and Lucas Luhr (GER) will be racing this beauty in next year's TUDOR United SportCar Championship for team Muscle Milk Pickett Racing. What's new with this prototype is the cooperation between Pickett Racing and the Famous ORECA Team who took part in several world class racing events including 19 entries in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

This cooperation can only reinforce Team Pickett's good performance during the last few years. The car will make its track debut in less than two weeks at the Rolex 24 at the Daytona International Raceway on January 3rd, 2014. The prototype will face competition from several newcomers including Mazda who will be entering a new diesel prototype. So stay tuned!

EcoBoost powered Race Car revealed by Ford


Ford revealed its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 powered Daytona Prototype that is set to compete in the United SportsCar Championship that came as a replacement for the ALMS and the Gran Am series. The car will debut at the Rolex Daytona 24 Hours next year with Team Michael Shank Racing.
