Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak Specs Released with More Pictures

Has a 1Hp / Kilogram power to weight ratio...

Peugeot revealed the official technical specs of its 2013 Pikes Peak competitor. The 208 T16 will be powered by a 3.2-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 875 Hp and sending power to the four wheels through a 6-speed sequential gearbox. The beast will be able to complete the 0 to 100 Km/h sprint in 1.8 seconds and needs just 4.8 seconds to reach 200 Km/h! Those impressive performance numbers are achieved thanks to a curb weight of just 875 Kilograms.

VIDEO: Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak Fully Revealed

After releasing a few teasers, Peugeot officially revealed its 208 T16 Pikes Peak competitor for the 2013 edition of the race to the clouds.

Even though the T16 is inspired by the production version of the Peugeot 208, the similarities between the two cars are minimal. The Pikes Peak variant is distinguished by its extremely wide fenders and rear wheels arches as well as its ridiculously pronounced aero kit. Interestingly, the rear wing is borrowed from the Peugeot 908, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

There's no word yet from Peugeot about what powers this beast but the unlimited class features machines that produce as much as 1,000 Hp. So a 800+ Hp power train is not out of question. The official livery of the car is yet to be revealed but think it looks exquisite the way it is now!

Peugeot hopes to achieve once again what the 405 T16 once achieved. During the "race to the clouds", the beast will be driven by none other than eight times WRC World Champion Sébastien Loeb. Peugeot Teases its 2013 Pikes Peak Competitor!

I was really disappointed last year when the Pikes Peak course was completely paved. I was thinking that the race lost its magic.. And even though for the first time someone finished the course in less than 10 minutes, it wasn't such an achievement as it would have been with the former track configuration.. Even the master himself, Tagima Monster, went to dispute the famous race in an electric car..

So I was kind of disinterested to follow Pikes Peak this year but then I heard that Peugeot was preparing a T16 version of the 208 model to dispute the event and it reminded of this. And now they released the first teasers of their competitor. So maybe it won't be a waste of time to follow the race this year after all...
