Three Motorsport events you wouldn't Want to miss This Month

The month of june is very special for motorsport fans because it holds three of the most prestigious events of the year: Le mans 24 Hours, 24 Hours of Nürburgring and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Of course there are plenty of other interesting events all over the year but let's just focus on these three. More details after the jump.

News: All three Nürburgring courses will be available in Gran Turismo 5

Sony has announced that all the Nürburgring courses will be included in Gran Turismo 5. It means that you will be able to race in two new circuits in addition to the Nordschleife: The Gran Prix circuit and the 24 hours circuit (with includes the Nordschleife and the majority of the GP circuit) This is good news for all Gran Turismo fans (and for me).

Judging by the pictures below, you can see how far the Polyphony Digital team went with the details. The graphics are just stunning and visitors of the 24 Hours race at the Nürburgring this weekend will be the first to be able able to try these new circuits in the special Gran Turismo demo stations. But if you're watching the race on streaming just like me, you still can enjoy these screens.

Reminder: The 2010 Nürburgring 24 Hours race starts tomorrow

Every car enthusiast round the world should not be missing one of the greatest racing events of the year. The 2010 24H-Rennen Nürburgring, Nordschleife starts tomorrow May 15th at 15.00 (local time). In this year's edition, a lot of new participants like a nearly stock Aston Martin Rapide, Two beautiful Peugeots RCZ coupés, the new Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid which already proved to be as fast as the other GT3's but more economic, a potential winner? maybe...

Other contenders include the returning Lexus LF-A, maybe to erase last year's race from our memories? The new Z4 GT3 race car, a bunch of M3's, R8 LMS's, vipers, Ford GT's, Alpina B6's (pictured above), Sciroccos and pretty much everything from V10's to 4 cylinders, from prepared race cars to nearly stock cars, all in one circuit for 24 Hours and thousands of corners. Don't miss the race! And as was the case last year, you'll probably be able to watch the race online in its official website.

The new BMW Z4 GT3 race car laps the Nürburgring really loud!

This video is part of the second VLN(*) race at the Nürburgring. In it, Norwegian driver Stian Sorlie takes you for a hot lap round the green hell with the latest customer race car introduced by BMW's Motorsport division, the Z4 GT3. The video features two on board camera views on both the driver and the track. But i'm sure what will catch your attention the most is the beautiful V8 noise especially as driver downshifts when entering the corners. As a reminder, the Z4 GT3 hides under its bonnet the same V8 that you can find in the M3 that now pumps out 480 Hp. The car weights approximatively 1,200 Kg. Enjoy ten minutes of pure racing.

(*) The VLN is the Endurance Racing championship held at the Nürburgring, or in German: Langstrecken Meisterschaft Nürburgring and it has a total of ten rounds all held at the Nordschleife)
