Aston Martin V12 Vantage S vs. Jaguar XKR-S GT

Motor trend has decided to put against each other one of our favorite British supercars: the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S and the Jaguar XKR-S GT. The result is 19 minutes of pure driving. Here's a quick refresher about both cars.

The Jaguar has a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 producing 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque, weights 1850 kg (3,968 pounds), does the 0 to 100 Km/h (62 mph) sprint in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 300 Km/h (186 mph).

The Aston Martin has a naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V12 producing 565 Hp and 458 pound-feet of torque, weights 1614 Kilograms (3,560 pounds), does the 0 to 100 Km/h sprint (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 329 Km/h (205 mph).

So here's what we have on paper: the Jaguar F-Type has a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 producing 495 hp but it's a little bit heavier because it's a convertible and because it carries more tech gadgets. The Corvette C6 with its 6.2-liter LS3 V8 producing 430 hp is slightly less powerful but it's lighter. Video after the jump.
Brand New Aston Martin One-77 for Sale


The Aston Martin One-77 is powered by a 7.3-liter front mid-mounted (like the SLR) V12 engine producing 750 hp and 750 Nm of torque. It is able to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 354km/h (220mph). It's so rare and so beautiful. And with only 77 produced, you'd think that each one of them has already been driven by now. Well, not his one. This one still like brand new and you can see how clean and untouched each inch of it is in the gallery below.

Scary: This 700 hp Ariel Atom is Road legal


DDMWorks has introduced an after-market conversion kit for the Ariel Atom which transforms it into a 700 Hp beast. It's called DDMworks Ariel Atom 700. Power still comes from a 2.0-Liter four-cylinder engine that has been boosted to produce a scary 700 Hp thanks to a supercharger and a a turbocharger. The driver has the choice between three levels of power: 450 Hp, 575 Hp and full power.

Lotus F1 E20 Revealed!


It seems that McLaren is the only team who has resisted the stepped nose temptation so far... Now it's Lotus F1's turn to unveil its 2012 competitor. The former Renault F1 Team has succeeded to attract attention this year by hiring the returning world champion Kimi Raikkönen and let's not forget the historic Black and Gold livery which looks absolutely gorgeous. On paper, this team has everything it needs to be among the front runners this year. Let's hope it live up to the fans' expectations..
