Last week, GM introduced its Camaro SSX at the SEMA Show, a track focused version of the V8 powered muscle car. Now it's Ford's turn to unleash its Mustang GT derived track car and they called it the BOSS 302. The new BOSS 302 features a high revving version of the famous 5.0L V8 powerplant that now produces 444 Hp. Another special edition of the beast is called Mustang BOSS 302 Laguna Seca and it features a special interior with what it seems to be a stopwatch integrated in the dashboard.

The mustang BOSS 302 is truly a great looking muscle car but that doesn't stop it from carrying tons of technology. But we're not going to complain since all that technology is used to make a it a faster and better handling track machine. In fact, the Mustang BOSS 302 has two keys and a split personality. Owners of the track focused Stang will have an ordinary every day key and a special red Track Key. The latter transforms the car from an every day pleasant to drive muscle car to a ferocious track beast reserved for the skilled drivers. Think of it as a Bugatti Veyron top speed key and a BMW M button combined together but more awesome. Using the red key makes the engine management system take maximum advantage from every single horsepower. For instance, the deceleration is set up to preserve the brakes, and the throttle response is very aggressive. The Track Key also makes available for the driver a two-stage launch control that can be controlled via buttons on the steering wheel.

Ford is so proud of its new car that it is offering its Boss 302 owners a free track day to fully test the potential of the "Red Key". More pictures of this great pony car in the gallery below. I know.. You want one. Me too.
