McLaren MP4-12C GT3: The Ultimate Flame Thrower?

The McLaren MP4-12C is one of the greatest supercars on the market today. Some say, it's too much calculated, too much "clinical" but we all know you can't blame someone for that! But one thing is sure, its GT3 variant has much more character especially after you see it in this video. Apparently the MP4-12C GT3 loves to throw flames, maybe it's her way to intimidate its competitors. Sometimes it goes wrong like this, but most of the time it gives us some spectacular shots! Watch the flame spitting beast in the video below and have your dose of automotive porn.

Artist Rendering: Ferrari F70 by David Williams

This is how David Williams has imagined the upcoming F70, the replacement for the almighty Enzo. The car borrows some design elements from other Ferrari models like the Engine cover and the diffuser from the P4/5 one-off model, the headlights from the 458 Italia or the nose of an Enzo. The designer took some liberty with some elements like the futuristic huge single exhausts from each side instead of the quadruple exhausts that we used to see on Ferrari V12 models or the side mirrors which are not really mirrors but small cameras. Overall, the design has its own personality and the rendering is just fantastic. Are there any design elements that you want see them making their way to the real deal?

David (aka wizzoo7) even went on to imagine the FXX version based on his F70 design and it looks absolutely stunning!

I really urge you to have a look at David's gallery as he has imagined and successfully created some very interesting concepts for our viewing pleasure!

Audi S5 By Senner Tuning

German tuning company Senner decided to bring its touch to the beautiful Audi S5. So how can you add some aggressiveness to the Audi Coupe without doing too much? From the exterior, the most noticeable change is the Work Varianza T1S red wheels and the red carbon fiber accents on the front and rear bumpers, side skirts as well as the side mirrors. Under the hood, the S5's V6 now produces 377 Hp and the car is now able to hit a top speed of 185 mph (with the speed limiter removed). From the interior, the most remarkable change is the steering wheel from the Audi R8. Enjoy the high res gallery below!

Ferrari Preparing a One-off model Based on the 599GTO

Cheerag Arya is a 32 Year-old Ferrari customer from India who already owns an F40 and a Black 599 GTO that he drives regularly. He judges his GTO as a "surprisingly practical" car and says that he has already done 7,000 Km (4349 miles) in it. Among the other prancing horse models owned by Arya we can find: a 599XX, an SA Aperta and a Daytona which is his first Ferrari.

Being a very special customer, Arya asked Ferrari to build for him the car of his dreams based on his own inputs and ideas. Unfortunately, there aren't much details about this car as Arya describes this project as a personal thing to him and that he is not willing to be exposing the car to the public... All we know is that it's going to be based on the 599GTO with possible modifications on the exhausts and the suspension and of course a totally different bodywork.

The sketch you see above published by Ferrari magazine suggests that the car might borrow some design cues from the new F12 Berlinetta. But this remains just an artist rendering of what the next Ferrari One-off, possibly named Arya after its owner, will look like. Click on the link below to read the full story.

Automotive Porn: Glowing Brake Discs (Part 1)

Unlike your everyday car, race cars are equipped with enormous brake discs made from expansive material and can reach unbelievably high temperatures. Under hard braking, the discs can reach temperatures of up to 750 degrees Celsius in the case of a Formula One car. While the heating of the brake discs might compromise the car's braking performance, it gives us some of the most beautiful shots in motorsport. Enjoy this small selection of glowing brake discs shots and stay tuned for the second part!
McLaren's Surprise X-1 Concept Makes its Appearence at Pebble Beach

McLaren unveiled their surprise concept car called the X-1. And the least thing you can say about it is that it looks absolutely stunning. Underneath that classy bodywork lies the same structure and engine from the MP4-12C. Even though there seems to be no apparent common ground between the two models, you can notice that it has the same exhausts layout as the more conventional coupe. The X-1 Concept is in reality a one-off created for a very special anonymous McLaren client. The project started three years ago, even before the official launch of the MP4-12C model.

From the exterior, the car has its own personality but it also takes inspiration from some iconic cars like the 1961 Facel Vega, a 1953 Chrysler D'Elegance Ghia, a 1959 Buick Electra, a 1939 Mercedes-Benz 540K and a 1971 Citroën SM. The interior is finished in Harissa Red Nappa leather. It's interesting because here in Tunisia, Harissa is a sauce based on red hot peppers. That doesn't really suit the 'classical elegance' of its body work but it might be perfect to describe the car's unbelievable performance.

With the X-1 Concept, McLaren automotive has demonstrated that it was able to create more organic looking machines. Even though the X-1 Concept is based on an MP4-12C, it has a totally different bodywork. That would be the fourth road going model from McLaren and it leaves us wanting more!

McLaren MP4-12C Can-Am Edition Concept

McLaren introduced the MP4-12C Can-Am Edition Concept based on the its GT3 racer. The MP4-12C's 3.8-Liter V8 has been tuned to produce 630 Hp. That's a 14 Hp increase over the road going model. The weighs just 1,200kg (2645.5lbs which promises outstanding accelerations. I'm not sure what are McLaren's racing plans for the Can-Am edition as for now this is just a concept that comes as a tribute to McLaren's successful days at the Canadian-American Sports Car Championship. McLaren describe it as the 'ultimate track car' so maybe McLaren has now its own alternative to the likes of the Ferrari 599XX and the Pagani Zonda R, though in terms of power, they do not belong to the same league... The McLaren MP4-12C Can-Am edition will makes its debut at this weekend's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
