Pikes Peak 2012: On board with Tajima "Monster" and his Electric Beast

Sorry for not paying attention the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb this year but with the whole course paved from top to bottom, all the race lost its magic for me. Plus, Nobuhiro Tajima, after dominating the unlimited class for years and breaking the 10 minutes barrier last year, chose to participate in the electric vehicle class in this year's edition. Well, you can't blame him!

Unfortunately, the race didn't go as well as expected for him and he was forced to abandon. The 850 Hp LOVEFab NSX failed to finish too and there was a huge Lancer Evolution crash that you can watch here... And oh yes, Rhys Millen scored his first Pikes Peak victory with a 9:46. time, just 18 thousands of a second ahead of Le Mans winner Romain Dumas. You can find pictures of "Monster" Tagima's electric beast in the gallery below and let's wish him better luck for next year!

EVO pits the 599 GTO against the F12 Berlinetta (sort of)

Yes, another F12 Berlinetta review... But this one is quite interesting because it puts it against the latest greatest thing from Ferrari: the 599 GTO. Compared to the 599GTB Fiorano and its 620 Hp V12, the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta belongs to another planet. With 730 Hp coming out of its V12 heart, it simply has the most powerful V12 that ever equipped a road going Ferrari. So if there's a Ferrari model that can compete with the beast, it must be the 599 GTO. With 661 Hp, it still produces 69 ponies less than the Berlinetta, but the 599 GTO is a technological masterpiece that is meant to be a track beast for the road. Besides, it has one of the fastest gearboxes that have ever been fitted in a road going Ferrari model, coming straight from its F1 car. Let's see what the EVO guys think of the prancing horse duo...
